frequently asked questions

is there always sunshine?

while las palmas is considered the city with the second best climate in the world, it is situated in the more cloudy and colder north of gran canaria. temperatures rarely fall far below 20 degrees and there is little rain but there will usually be at least a few days per week with grey(er) sky hours.

how are the living costs?

las palmas is for sure one of the most affordable beach cities in Europe with groceries, many of them produced locally, being very affordable. even a coffee directly at the beach front will hardly cost more than €2, a normal dinner incl. drink about €20, a 7 course dinner in a michelin star restaurant is available for less than €100. public transportation, cultural activities etc. are significantly cheaper than on the european mainland.

what can i do when i want sun on a grey day?

beaches in the south of the island offer an almost all day sun guarantee, you can reach them in 30min by car / 50min by bus.

what makes this place different from an airbnb?

almost all airbnbs in las palmas were created by companies, not people who want to live in it. warm lighting, tasteful furniture, knives that really cut and personal touches is something you will find in albareda83.

is las palmas touristic?

as the 8th biggest city in spain with about 400.000 inhabitants, las palmas is the only 'real' city in the canaries and home of many canarios, digital nomads and spanish dividing their time between mainland and island city. while you will see many tourists, it is still a city where people live and has nothing in common with board cities such as maspalomas where 90%+ of the population are tourists.

is this penthouse kids friendly?

not gonna lie, if you are looking for a place where small kids can run arround freely without any risk of damaging glass or hurting themselves on an interior staircase, albareda83 might not (yet) be for you. older kids from the age of 8 will feel at home in a second though.
